Q + A

How far is La Aurora Airport from Antigua?

While the airport is only 24 miles from central Antigua, traffic can set your ride back about an hour and a half. Please plan accordingly, but don't worry too much - the Miami natives are sure to be running on "Cuban Time."

Is Uber available?

Yes! You can call an Uber to get you from place-to-place within Antigua. The hotel concierge can also handle calling taxis for guests. If you're feeling adventurous, hop on a local tuk-tuk using Rumbo (the ridesharing app) or by waiving one down!

Are Children Invited?

Even the best parents need a break sometimes! Take yours on our wedding day, which has been planned with an adults-only crowd in mind. Should you need help coordinating child care in Antigua, please feel free to let us know - we will do our best to assist.

What is the easiest way to get to the ceremony and reception venues?

Shuttles will pick-up guests from Villa Bokeh and El Convento to take you to Santa Clara for the ceremony. Following the ceremony, the shuttle service will take all guests to Villa Bokeh for the reception. Once your dancing feet can't take it anymore, rides will be provided back into the city.

Will Suki be there?

Maybe. She is doing her very best at service dog school. We had high hopes of having an A+ student, but will settle for her passing by the skin of her teeth.

Will there be a language barrier?

Most likely. While the majority of locals primarily speak Spanish, many (if not all) of the restaurants and sights have English translations alongside any text. For English-friendly spots, check out our Things to do page. For translation services, feel free to call, text, or send a smoke signal to Javier Flores, who we anticipate running for mayor of Antigua in 2026.

Is Antigua safe?

Absolutely, you can let your guard down here. We are very excited to enjoy this beautiful, hospitable, and scenic city with our friends and family. That said, Antigua is a city. Just like anywhere else in the world, keep your wits about you! Here are emergency numbers for some peace of mind: Police: 110 / 120. Medical assistance: 122 / 123. Firefighters: 122 / 123.

Should we bring cash?

Definitely! While many locals accept USD, your safest bet will be carrying GTQ (the Guatemalan Quetzal).

What will the weather be like?

The weather in Antigua is temperate, and will likely oscillate between mid-fifties to mid-seventies during your stay.

Anything important to pack?

Be sure to bring sneakers or comfortable flat shoes as the streets are entirely made up of cobblestone. Yes - even Kat will be in flats.

Will Michael force a hike on me?

Of course. Beware!
